I am researching transportation options for moving oversized machinery and industrial equipment across the USA, and I would like to hear from people who have experience with these shipments. Choosing a carrier seems more complicated than arranging regular freight because dimensions, permits, suitable trailers, and delivery schedules can all affect the process.

While looking into oversize load trucking providers, I came across Freedom Heavy Haul. Has anyone here used this company to move construction equipment, agricultural machinery, or other large loads? I am particularly interested in firsthand experiences with communication, shipment tracking, delivery times, and whether the final invoice matched the original estimate.

One thing I am trying to figure out is how to compare quotes fairly. If two companies offer different prices, what details should I check to make sure I am comparing the same services? Do permits, escort vehicles, loading assistance, and insurance usually appear in the initial quote, or should customers ask about these separately?

I would also like to know how carriers handle route planning when equipment exceeds standard legal dimensions. Does the transportation company take care of the necessary permits and route approvals, or does the customer need to coordinate some of these arrangements?

For anyone experienced with oversize load trucking, what are the most important questions to ask before signing an agreement? Would you prioritize a carrier’s experience with a specific type of equipment over getting the lowest available price?

Freedom Heavy Haul is one option I have found during my research, but I would rather learn from people who have actually worked with them.

If you have arranged oversize load trucking across state lines, what advice would you give someone trying to avoid unexpected costs and transportation delays? I am interested in hearing what worked well and what you would do differently next time.
