Tried to jump start it myself and now I think I’ve made everything worse, proper amateur hour over here
In my defence I watched a YouTube video and it looked straightforward enough but apparently there’s a right way and a wrong way to connect jumper cables and I’m now about seventy percent sure I did the wrong way because there was a little spark and now the dash lights won’t even come on at all when before at least the radio was working. My neighbor who let me use his car for the jump just sort of shook his head and went back inside and I don’t blame him honestly. So now I’m in the market for a new battery and probably a bit of a lecture from whichever mechanic I end up calling, and I’ve been scrolling through local listings trying to find a place that won’t make me feel like a complete muppet when I explain what happened. Found one at http://www.getlisteduae.com/listings/battery-zone that seems to have a proper address in Al Quoz and a phone number that looks like a real landline which is slightly comforting, but I’m still bracing myself for the inevitable “you did what, habibi” when I tell them about my electrical misadventure. I just need the car running by tomorrow morning because I’ve got a viewing in JVC and the last thing I want is to be that person showing up late in a Careem because my car is sitting in the parking lot looking sad with the bonnet up. Anyone else ever done something properly daft while trying to save a few dirhams or is it just me?
