I’m honestly tired of replacing batteries every 18-24 months like clockwork. It feels like no matter what brand I try – cheap ones, mid-range ones, even a so-called “premium” one from a well-known shop – they all seem to die right around the two year mark when summer hits. I drive a 2016 Lexus IS, nothing fancy, no crazy electrical demands. Car is parked in shaded parking at work and at home. I’ve been reading that the heat under the hood is what really kills them, not just the ambient temperature. A colleague told me Delkor is supposed to be better for our climate because of the way they’re built, but I’m skeptical after being disappointed so many times. I saw a post where someone said to Click Here for more details on battery construction differences, which got me curious about what actually separates a good battery from a bad one. For those who’ve had a battery last three full summers here, what did you buy? Is there any brand that actually stands behind their warranty without a million excuses? Or am I just expecting too much from car batteries in this weather?
